As I tipped my bag out in frustration trying (for the fifth time) to find my ringing phone (then missing the call), I decided enough was enough – I needed a new bag.

My old one was a red and black saddle style purchase that I adored and had paid only £25 for. Unfortunately the fact that it was so cheap reflected on the quality. Although the outside was fine, the lining had disintegrated and I continued to lose things in what had become a black hole of vinyl.

So, I sat down and figured out what it was that I really wanted. I decided my bag had to –

1) Have pockets (so I could at least find my phone)
2) Be of reasonable quality (so I could find everything else)
3) Be big (to fit in my life)
4) Be made of leather
5) Be stylish, fashionable and edgy
6) Be in any colour other than black (this should only be saved for shoes, wallets and clothes)
7) Not fall apart
8) Be under my £60 budget ( I wasn’t going to make the mistake of buying cheap again)

And I finally found it. My bag. It had everything I could ask for – only one problem. It was £20 over my budget.

I weighed up the option…do I leave it…this heavenly bag of blush Croco leather, brass buttons and stylish straps? Do I face the wrath of my bank manager when he sees I have gone over my weekly budget? Or do I blow it and accept this bag and I were fated for each other?

I felt it was my duty as a girl to trust destiny and do it. So now I am the proud owner of a new bag which goes with everything… And not once have I missed a phone call.
